Well, I finally got my transfer paperwork signed and mailed off, now it's just time to play the waiting game and get that call telling me I'm going to another office. I'm just glad I have the luxury to leave a workplace that I feel is bad for me.
When I met with my Supervisor and the Office Manager I told them about how this particular co-worker seems to be picking on me - and even went to the point of belittling me in front of other people. Letting everyone else get away with stuff that I couldn't ... because I was the new person in that team. Eventually when the subject of my transfer came about I was asked why, to which I replied it was that particular co-worker. I also added that I'd rather go to work someplace I enjoyed then hate getting up in the morning to face a place I hated. It's gotten to the point where the sight, sound and smell of that woman gets to me - I just want do some physical violence to her but I know that wouldn't solve anything. Anyways, when I said that she was my main reason to transfer the Office Manager just laughed and said, "You're only transferring because of ****!".
Yeah ... whatever ... I'm sorry that she thinks that is something to laugh at. I feel that NOBODY gets paid enough (nor ever would) to put up with other people's s*** to the point where it makes them uncomfortable. Maybe I should have responded with an "I'm sorry but I thought this was a professional office, where people behave in a civilized fashion ... but I guess I was wrong."? Maybe she would have liked that response ... but ... I just rolled my eyes (kept my mouth shut) ... got my transfer paper and mailed it off.
Fast forward to this weekend. It was VERY Disney centered, but if you've been reading here for the past few posts that wouldn't surprise you in the least. I was going to the Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store (on the Metro Rail because gas is RIDICULOUS) and was surprised at what I saw when I left the station.
Right on Hollywood & Highland they had closed down the street for a few blocks for a pretty massive anti-war, anti-Bush rally. It was rather surreal to see fake blood splattered on the street with gory war images strewn about ... while standing next to the Mann's Chinese Theatre ... but that was Saturday in Hollywood. Later on I discovered that this demonstration was organized by A.N.S.W.E.R. LA, a local organization aimed at stopping war and racism. Rather unexpected, yet after taking care of my business I milled around the area to see what was going on. It's amazing how a group of people with a lot of enthusiasm can make your hair stand on end and make you take more notice of the world you live in.
Then comes Sunday, and my much anticipated trip to Disneyland for the 40th anniversary of Pirates Of The Carribbean (got up at 5 AM, was at the park by 7 AM). Along with that I was also meeting some of my fellow MiceChatters at the park as well - these people feed my addiction to Disneyland by providing great company and cool memories. Today we had a fellow MiceChatter working the Jungle Cruise ride, and 25 of us gathered together for the most hilarious ride ever! It's fun when everybody ... kinda ... knows each other and we can act all goofy and just have fun.

It was a gloomy day, but Sleeping Beauty's Castle still looked fantastic!
The Castle in all its regal glory.
I thought the kids before me loosened it up a bit, but after trying to pull that Sword out for a few minutes I gave up on my dreams of ruling over England ...
Rode on King Arthur's Carousel and was in awe of the attention to detail.
I haven't been to Disneyland this early in quite some time. I love the little dolls that come out of It's A Small World every 15 minutes. This is a ride everyone loves to hate, yet still keeps going on it ... can you imagine listening to "It's A Small World After All ..." over and over again until you can no longer take it!
On the way back to Main Street the music of The Mad Tea Party lured me towards the teacups. It's always fun to see (and feel) how fast you can spin those things.
It was my unbirthday, and the Cheshire Cat pointed me toward's the White Rabbit's house.
Ok ... I'm short ... but not THAT SHORT! He didn't have time for me though, kept saying he was late for something or other ...
On my way to The Enchanted Tiki Room I passed by King Triton and those ugly Tomorrowland rock thingies.
Tongaroa, the ruler of all the Tiki Gods and Godesses. Plus, the Tiki Room is hope of the oh so delicious Pineapple Dole Whip ...
After so many hours in the park Noon came around and time to meet my fellow enablers ... err ... umm ... I mean MiceChatters. I love these folks, and I'd show the rest of the day ... but that video has been deemed Top Secret. If I showed you I'd have to kill you ... sorry ... LOL
