  • Well, I finally got my transfer paperwork signed and mailed off, now it's just time to play the waiting game and get that call telling me I'm going to another office.  I'm just glad I have the luxury to leave a workplace that I feel is bad for me.

When I met with my Supervisor and the Office Manager I told them about how this particular co-worker seems to be picking on me - and even went to the point of belittling me in front of other people.  Letting everyone else get away with stuff that I couldn't ... because I was the new person in that team.  Eventually when the subject of my transfer came about I was asked why, to which I replied it was that particular co-worker.  I also added that I'd rather go to work someplace I enjoyed then hate getting up in the morning to face a place I hated.  It's gotten to the point where the sight, sound and smell of that woman gets to me - I just want do some physical violence to her but I know that wouldn't solve anything.  Anyways, when I said that she was my main reason to transfer the Office Manager just laughed and said, "You're only transferring because of ****!".

Yeah ... whatever ... I'm sorry that she thinks that is something to laugh at.  I feel that NOBODY gets paid enough (nor ever would) to put up with other people's s*** to the point where it makes them uncomfortable.  Maybe I should have responded with an "I'm sorry but I thought this was a professional office, where people behave in a civilized fashion ... but I guess I was wrong."?  Maybe she would have liked that response ... but ... I just rolled my eyes (kept my mouth shut) ... got my transfer paper and mailed it off.

Fast forward to this weekend.  It was VERY Disney centered, but if you've been reading here for the past few posts that wouldn't surprise you in the least.  I was going to the Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store (on the Metro Rail because gas is RIDICULOUS) and was surprised at what I saw when I left the station.

Right on Hollywood & Highland they had closed down the street for a few blocks for a pretty massive anti-war, anti-Bush rally.  It was rather surreal to see fake blood splattered on the street with gory war images strewn about ... while standing next to the Mann's Chinese Theatre ... but that was Saturday in Hollywood.  Later on I discovered that this demonstration was organized by A.N.S.W.E.R. LA, a local organization aimed at stopping war and racism.  Rather unexpected, yet after taking care of my business I milled around the area to see what was going on.  It's amazing how a group of people with a lot of enthusiasm can make your hair stand on end and make you take more notice of the world you live in.

Then comes Sunday, and my much anticipated trip to Disneyland for the 40th anniversary of Pirates Of The Carribbean (got up at 5 AM, was at the park by 7 AM).  Along with that I was also meeting some of my fellow MiceChatters at the park as well - these people feed my addiction to Disneyland by providing great company and cool memories.  Today we had a fellow MiceChatter working the Jungle Cruise ride, and 25 of us gathered together for the most hilarious ride ever!  It's fun when everybody ... kinda ... knows each other and we can act all goofy and just have fun.

It was a gloomy day, but Sleeping Beauty's Castle still looked fantastic!

The Castle in all its regal glory.

I thought the kids before me loosened it up a bit, but after trying to pull that Sword out for a few minutes I gave up on my dreams of ruling over England ...

Rode on King Arthur's Carousel and was in awe of the attention to detail.

I haven't been to Disneyland this early in quite some time.  I love the little dolls that come out of It's A Small World every 15 minutes.  This is a ride everyone loves to hate, yet still keeps going on it ... can you imagine listening to "It's A Small World After All ..." over and over again until you can no longer take it!

On the way back to Main Street the music of The Mad Tea Party lured me towards the teacups.  It's always fun to see (and feel) how fast you can spin those things.

It was my unbirthday, and the Cheshire Cat pointed me toward's the White Rabbit's house.

Ok ... I'm short ... but not THAT SHORT!  He didn't have time for me though, kept saying he was late for something or other ...

    See!

On my way to The Enchanted Tiki Room I passed by King Triton and those ugly Tomorrowland rock thingies.

Tongaroa, the ruler of all the Tiki Gods and Godesses.  Plus, the Tiki Room is hope of the oh so delicious Pineapple Dole Whip ...

    Showing some Dole Whip love!

After so many hours in the park Noon came around and time to meet my fellow enablers ... err ... umm ... I mean MiceChatters.  I love these folks, and I'd show the rest of the day ... but that video has been deemed Top Secret.  If I showed you I'd have to kill you ... sorry ... LOL

That's it for now, but I'm sure to have something or other up soon.  Have a great week ... as for me I'll be doing Federal jury duty on Tuesday - which promises to be fun (you know I'm kidding right).

  • I am just IN LOVE with this man today .... I set all my cell phone ringtones to Roy Orbison songs ...

  • Found out today my Dad was diagnosed with Prostatitis.  Never heard of it until now, and thankfully it is nothing that would lead to prostate cancer down the road ... but ... I hate seeing him in so much pain.

But I swear if my Dad dies I so feel like killing myself ... because I wouldn't know how to live without him around.  He is the only constantly good thing in my life and I don't want to lose that.

I know at this time it's nothing really serious, but I still worry.  In actuality I don't even want to deal with the idea, because I know I wouldn't manage through it very well.

After agonizing over this for the next few hours I know I'll feel better.

  • Hmm ... odd set of occurences.  My laptop died on me a few weeks ago, then my TV just stops working and only emits a buzzing sound when I plug it in ... and now my iPod just stopped playing!  This is so frustrating!

I just found this so hilarious!  I've been TRYING to enjoy this game, but it takes FOREVER before you get to anything good.

  • So here's a MEGA picture update because I've been gone from all you wonderful folks for so long!  I've been BUSY, plus now that I'm getting to know more folks from my Disney forum I tend to get out more instead of being on the computer.  But enough talk, let's start with the pictures!

Early in the month I went to Disneyland & California Adventure with Nick.  He happily let me drag him along to Soarin' Over California and then Tower Of Terror, where a nice CM (Disney employee) took this picture.  It was a cool day so I had a long sweater, which was good because I coerced Nick to go on Grizzly River Run right before this ... not only did I get wet ... but my behind was wet the entire day!  Then we went to rock the Universe on Rockin' Space Mountain with "Higher Ground" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers playing.  It was a BLAST!  I love that ride, and now when I go to Disneyland (which is pretty much EVERY Sunday) I HAVE to go on Space Mountain or Tower Of Terror.  Plus, my agenda was not only to take Nick to Disneyland for a great time, but to also get the special VMK cards with his admission ticket (since I have to wait one more month to get more myself ... the only disadvantage of an Annual Passport).  Notice my other Disney obsession around my neck - pin trading/collecting!

Well, after that I ended up organizing a meet up at the California Science Center to see the "Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination" Exhibit.  We had a nice small group so I was able to talk/get to know everyone that came, and one of the MiceChatters brought his twin daughters as well - they were adorable!

These spheres are in the center courtyard that connects the IMAX theatre and the Museum, the beautiful violet color comes from the skylight right above them.

I love the Storm Trooper costume!

Behind the Darth Vader mask.  No wonder he's bad!

A VERY detailed Millenium Falcon model.

Me and a Storm Trooper.  One of the MiceChatters was familiar with his group and we talked for a while with him.  What was even cooler is that he had that mic thing going with his voice just like the movie!  Talk about attention to detail!!!

Mike then invited me to accompany him to the Scottish Festival at the Queen Mary, I'd never been to either so I was interested in checking this out.  It was a rather cool day, but it was nice to walk around the boat.  My only lament is that it isn't kept up in that great of a condition (Disney standards have ruined me ... LOL), but it was nice to go somewhere new and get to see men in kilts!

This Scotsman was telling stories about maiming and war to the kiddies.

    Who's ready for Jumangi!

Mmmmmm ... bagpipes!  You know what I mean!

The control room on board the Queen Mary.

Walking around the Promenade deck I found this.

Inside the shopping areas on board the ship.

And today I decided to take my camera along with me to take pictures on the way back to work after eating lunch at home.

I love the fact that this is the view I get every morning on the way to work.  I have fallen in love with the Downtown L.A. skyline.

I'm a daredevil, taking pictures while driving.

Half of Downtown was gray, the other half looked like this.  Almost looks like the sky is photoshopped.

Something else I see every work day, the Coca Cola Building.

    My little corner in hell!

At 4 pm I broke out of hell and it was raining!

Well, that's it for now.  Hopefully I'll be on here a bit more now!
  • Sooooo ... I saw the doctor today and he told me that my broken leg has healed rather nicely.  Then told me that whenever I want I can have EVERYTHING (rod and screws) taken out.

I have to say that I have wanted this stuff out, but when I'M given the choice as to when ... I stall.  It scares the hell out of me to go through this whole thing again ... the surgery ... the healing process ... the inability to do any strenuous activity for 6 months (no fast walking or even walking my Maya ... just walking).

He just gave me his card, told me I was good to go and didn't need to see a doctor about my leg anymore ... and give him a call when I wanted to get the stuff out.  I think for now I'll be keeping it.  I just keep thinking to how much it hurt to get out of bed those first two weeks when I could feel the rush of pain down my leg ... the sensation of feeling my knee split in two every time I got in and out of the car ... I will need to go through that all again ... this time I have a choice and I don't think I want to do it.

  • I haven't done any work for the past three days.  That's right folks, I've been getting paid to do nothing for 8 hours a day the last three days.  It looks like the trend will continue until Friday.  So after work I'll be going to Disneyland ... and spin on the teacups until I want to throw up!

On a fun note I got my medical records today from my old OS.  Pretty graphic reading ... although they use the word subsequently a lot.

Subsequently a drill was used to open the proximal aspect of the tibia, and subsequently a guidewire was introduced, and the fracture reduced.  Subsequently using adequate reamers, the tibia was reamed to 11.5 mm.  Subsequently a 30 mm rod was introduced into the tibia of 33 cm length.

Yummy!  In English, the put a wire through a hole they drilled in my tibia to align it.  They then had to drill and ream the bone to accomodate the rod, which even though 33 cm looks damn huge on the X-ray!

  • Over 200 people can't be wrong!  Sure, this picture is small ... but I got it of the online site.  Although it doesn't skip over the fact that there were A LOT of us there at Disneyland today.

I hope that all of you are enjoying your weekend!  Here's a better picture of us getting "organized" for the picture.

  • OMG!  I can't stop laughing at the fact that I supposedly ... somehow ... have similiarities with Lindsay Lohan!  OMG!  I don't know if I should be offended!

I want as many of you that can to try this out ... I'd like to see your results!
