  • Thanks to all of you for your patience while I get this friends lock thing in order, and just to let all of you others know if you aren't on my friends list please request to be added.

In other news things with my new job location have been going swimmingly.  A few weeks ago I got to check out the old Ambassador site, where Robert Kennedy was shot.  Even though it was just a bunch of leveled dirt the Cocoanut Grove still stands, and will be the new auditorium for the high school.  The property used to belong to Mr. Donald Trump, so you can imagine how much it cost to buy that off him - but I feel a school is much better then some expensive high rise condos.  The design of the new schools looks awesome, and I'll take a picture to show you all sometime during this week.  The high school is going to mimic the front facade of the Ambassador, and a public park with a memorial to Robert Kennedy will be at the sidewalk.  Plus, the design for the new art and dance school in Downtown L.A. looks fantastic too - pictures to come of that too!

A few days ago we had the horrible experience of the Griffith Park fires, and I think the dryness/smokiness of air pushed me into getting a bad cold.  I'm thankful that the fires are over, but the hillsides look so bare and ugly, with little swirling dust storms of dirt and white flame retardant - which I doubt is a healthy mixture for humans or animals that are nearby.  Thankfully I'm getting over my cold now so I'll be back at work soon.

Although ... as I continue to climb the career ladder that I am I feel so ... inadequate.  I look around sometimes at the people around me and feel like a little kid, don't know what I'm doing there with all these folks - but there I am.  I'm thinking I need to get some new clothes to help me with that.

Oh ... and I can finally wear heels!  sort of ... LOL!

  • You are not inadequate. It must come with our age. I feel that way all the time, then I realize that my job is 99% beneath me. You'll do fine. Most important thing is that you enjoy going to your place of work each day! I didn't hear about the park fires. All those poor cruising queens. Whatever will they do??

  • Have faith in yourself.

  • perhaps you're having allergies to the (intensified) smoke?

  • New clothes do help make you feel more adjusted in new surroundings.  Not sure why but they do.  I"m glad the new job is going well and can't wait to see the pictures the high school sounds awesome.

  • the florida fires that are burning down south of me the smoke actually has come up through to the top of mississippi in places. at least that's what our news guy said last night on tv. (i am thinking perhaps he doesn't know what rain clouds are anymore because it's been so long since one of them has come our way )
no one wants to be an adult and have to fit in with the adult life... you don't have to fit in just do your job and get out of there as quickly as possible to enjoy yourself in your real life.

  • New clothes sound nice, a treat for your accomplishments. And truly, you have acomplishmed a lot!

  • oh yes! i heard about the griffith park fires. my cousin phoned me in full bodied tears as she explained that the location of our childhood memories was going up in flames. i calmed her down but i really wish i could see what the park looks like now. i hope it can be restored to its original state someday.

as for you, i ought to congratulate you. you have worked awfully hard and you may feel like a kid but you deserve to be going up that ladder, so keep at it! i'll bake you cookies as a reward and try to teleport them to you.

    :D
