After 3 years of working at the same office I'm finally leaving and moving ... across the street. I had to laugh at that one. I admit that it's still great, because not only will I get more money (about $500 more a month) but I will still be 10 minutes away from work ... on the streets!
Although I will surely miss my co-workers, but since I now have a one hour lunch I can just walk across the street and join them (since they only get a half hour lunch). I still plan on attending all the events for my old department, like the employee BBQ next week and the christmas dinner too. In all this time those people have become like a second family to me.
The only odd request I have is if I can take my chair with me. You see, currently most offices have those awful sliding chairs that are all cushiony - I hate those chairs. I like the sturdy, solid wooden chair that I have now. So, tomorrow I'll find out from my boss if when I get settled across the street they can take my old chair over there. I love those wooden chairs!
