So, since the normal GPS unit isn't something most people necessarily need there is now a new "game" of sorts that I have been clued in on. One of my co-workers mentioned geocaching, and instantly I wondered what the heck it is. Well, if you're wondering like I am then take a look at the site:
I have to admit that it sounds like fun, especially on days when you have nothing special to do and just want to drive around town. Or it could work if you are an outdoor enthusiast and like hiking, you could probably find some caches along the way. Even better is to make your own cache - or we could all get together and make a collective Xanga cache in each state, almost akin to some of those sites that mail off an item to each other and post on their Xanga when they receive it.
Regardless it all looks like it would be fun. Now all I need is to get my butt on eBay and buy a GPS.
So, any of you think you'd be into this?

were they hiding jeeps around the world or something?
I'd do it! But... (always a big ol butt in there...)
I did this about 5 years ago with a friend of mine. I haven't checked the site lately, but there were quite a few people who found our hidden treasure and played along. Someday I'll have to head back into the Superstition Mountains of Arizona and see if I can locate that thing again.
it is an interesting idea...
i love my Gps
