  • Weekly Photo Challenge: Defining Shots Away From Home

Well, I've always had a special place in my heart for Disneyland.  So, a while ago I went with a friend and took some pictures.  So, to me something that defines California (besides the beaches and Hollywood) is Disneyland.  I couldn't decide on which picture to place here, so I'm putting up two.

This is Sleeping Beauty Castle all decked out for the 50th anniversary of the park.  Each tower has a crown that represents a different disney princess (one of them even has two).  I have a disney pin with a picture of the left most crown (pin collecting is a recent hobby of mine).

Matterhorn Mountain with a wonderful sky behind it.  In a way you could say Disneyland has a bit of Hollywood in it as well.  This man made mountain at times has climbers heading to the top.

And don't forget to go HERE to take a look at more pictures from the Weekly Photo Challenge Blog!

  • Cool pictures.

  • I've been to Disneyland only once and just for a day. You're right, though, it definitely is a defining feature of that state. Thanks for the submissions!

  • Wow, they really decked out the castle, didn't they.  The Matterhorn looks just as I remember it----from the mid-60's!!  They weren't climbing it back then, though!

  • wow, that castle is just beautiful! I bet it was even more awesome in person!
I have never been to Disneyworld, my in-laws took my daughter when she was 10, so at least she has gotten to experience it!
