  • I am BARELY getting to do the motions of "walking".  Can't really walk yet though, and I admit that at times it is so frustrating.

I was settling into the routine of this whole thing, and then as soon as the doctor told me to start putting more pressure and weaning myself off that boot ... well it's like you can almost "taste" that old "life" coming back to you.

The latest x-rays show good progress, since the fracture is barely visible on the x-ray now - it's filling in rather nicely.  Yet ... I yearn to walk.  There is nothing more odd then going to sleep and forgetting about what is going on right now, then waking up to the walker right next to my bed ... and that big boot on the side of the bed.

But, on the good side of it all ... at least I can move around with little discomfort.  My swelling isn't horrible now.  And best of all, so far there have been no complications since I left the hospital (after the surgery I got a high fever for about three days and a blood clot ... let me just say ... injections in the stomach are NOT fun ... but that is stating the obvious).

Hopefully I'm not boring all of you too much with my constant details about my broken leg, but at the moment this is all I know ... since I can't get around on my own ... not even drive yet (hopefully in a few more weeks that will change).  And, maybe soon I'll be back to my old blogging habits.  I miss being online and seeing what everyone is up to.

  • Dear Liz,

Thank you so much for dropping by WhenWordsCollide and leaving such nice comments. (And nicely revealing, too!) It's late, one of my "drinking nights with my cancerous roommate". It seems I always "party with Joel" on Tuesdays. I was just telling him this. He gets dosed on Fridays, and usually doesn't "come around" until Tuesdays, then we "chat".

I mentioned the other day that I think you've had quite enough bad luck and now it's time for you to start having incredibly good luck. That's how the "Universe" works.

Notes from the Universe: "You know, Liz, I've been fu*king with you for most of the first part of this year, now I'll make sure you'll be able to walk again, I'll give you a promotion, and you'll soon find you're happier than at any time in your life. "

    Love,

    Michael , ppf
