I went to the zoo today since I was anxious to see the new sea lion exhibit, and I was surprised as to how many people were there as well ... mostly because during the construction phase of the new area the zoo was pretty empty.
At the main entrance they had this great surf band playing ... I stood there for the whole hour they were playing - nothing beats the sound of a good surf guitar because I was MESMERIZED! Then I made my way through the zoo. Of course, since it was a bit hot out ... there weren't too many animals roaming around in their exhibits ... but I sure wished I could join the otters in their frolicking through the water.

Sounds like it was a pretty good day, and constructive! That otter in the pond is a funny sight, but a peaceful one. Not a care in the world-just lie back and float! Love to you!
Don't look now but that otter isn't frolicking. Looks more like a nap after a big meal.
Sea lions are so adorable. It has always been a fantasy of mine to have selective zoo creatures roam freely within the confines of my home. For some reason, I always picture a sea lion looking over everyone else from the mantelpiece.
He looks so relaxed! make me want to just float around.
